Rachael is a ‘Payungu’ Elder with six children and 13 grandchildren. Her traditional Payungu country is located along the Ningaloo Reef coast and inland along the Minilya and Lyndon Rivers northeast of the town of Carnarvon, Western Australia. Her Maternal Grandmother taught her to sew on an old Singer treadle sewing machine at Minilya Station when she was about nine years of age. She continued to paint for many years, excelling in her type of art and paintings throughout her academic years. Rachael has had the vision of turning her artwork into printed fabric for a long time to make what she likes to call ‘wearable art'.
